Conferences & Meetings

  • Thoughtfully 3 workshops were organised. Two ‘Industry Academia Engagement Workshop’ with presence of 6 industry partners namely Eaton, MSEDCL, SAS Powertech, NSK Engg. Corporation, Opulence Power and BMS Software.
    • First ‘Industry Academia Engagement Workshop’ on ‘Industry 4.0 AI, Ml, And Deep Learning Applications in the Electrical Power Industry’ was conducted on 15th July 2023. ‘Event was Supported By Industry Relations Committee of R10’
    • Second ‘Industry Academia Engagement Workshop’ on ‘Industry 4.0 AI, Ml, And Deep Learning Applications in the Electrical Power Industry’ was conducted on 19th August 2023. ‘Event was Supported By Industry Relations Committee of R10’
    • Partnered R10 PES India Chapters Annual Global Workshop on ‘SMART TECHNOLOGIES IN POWER & ENERGY SYSTEMS’ at Hyderabad on 24th and 25th November 2023. Global experts in Power and Energy Systems contributed to this workshop. Power Sector organizations such as ‘Powergrid’ and other industries few sponsors.
  • Two Distinguished Lecture Programs as stated below:
    • IEEE PES-PELS Distinguished Lecturer Program by Sanjib Kumar Panda, Fellow, IEEE & Director, Power and Energy Area, NUS on ‘Single Phase Inverter Control Techniques for RE In Smart Grid’ on 9th March 2023.
    • IEEE PES Distinguished Lecture by Dr. S. V. Kulkarni on ‘Insights into Design of Transformers’ on 29th November 2023.
  • Through all 21 activities, 3 workshops , 2 DLs , and other activities, we have reached out to almost 2200 beneficiaries including students , researchers , faculty and industry persons.  For various activities such as technical, societal and other, on average 50-60 students, 8-10 IEEE members, faculty members and industry participants were present.
  • It is planned to form the “Society Chapter Student Branch”. Two colleges having UG, PG and PhD in Electrical Engineering have shown interest to establish PES Student chapter.
  • PES- IAS Chapter has good connect with industries. Significant numbers of Industry persons participated Flagship Event of PES-IAS Chapter IEEE Pune Section  Shri. D.M. Tagare Memorial Lecture  by Dr. Rahul Walawalkar. Industry persons were involved in few activities such as Industry Relation Committee (IRC) workshops, Eaton membership drive, IESA lecture series etc.
  • Total 10 Execom member meetings were conducted. We follow a practice of monthly meeting of PES-IAS  Execom.
